Straddling the meridian,
a foot in each hemisphere,
we stand at the beginning
and the end of days.
The sun is casually dying.
The scale of things appals me.
In the shop, 3-D globes
twirl on their axes.
Now and not now
is the fourth dimension.
Clutching our lollies,
we head down the hill,
slipping through time,
frictionless, as easy as light.
